A man was riding in a car with a woman when he allegedly began to physically assault her, reaching for a firearm and threatening her. In fear for her life, the woman was able to retrieve her own firearm and fire at him in self-defense. The injured man was taken to a hospital, and after his release, was booked into the local detention center. The woman was not charged. (foxcarolina.com; Piedmont, S.C.; 1/3/23)
