Nra Foundation Press Release

The NRA Foundation, fueled by the unwavering support of Friends of NRA fundraising efforts, has delivered significant and life-changing impacts on shooting sports communities across the nation. Through its grant program, the NRA Foundation has provided essential funding and resources to a wide array of initiatives, including police training programs, youth shooting teams, the Eddie Eagle GunSafe program, Women on Target, and the NRA Youth Education Summit, among others.

These grants have transformed lives and opened doors for thousands, creating opportunities for individuals to engage in shooting sports and contribute to the preservation of this important American tradition. Below, a few recent grant recipients share the profound impact these funds have had on their programs:

Kids Outdoor Sports Camp, Vacaville, California
“The $15,000 grant from the NRA Foundation, which included ammunition, sporting clays, and much-needed equipment, enabled Kids Outdoor Sports Camp and our Outdoor Conservation Explorer program to advance to the next level of training, Elite Camp 1. Thank you to everyone who works hard to support youth shooting sports and thank you to the NRA Foundation for supporting Kids Outdoor Sports.”— Kids Outdoor Sports Camp

Alcorn County 4-H Shooting Sports, Corinth, Mississippi
Alcorn County 4-H Shooting Sports received over $7,000 in new pistols, a compressed air filling station, and shooting equipment. Their team competes in air rifle, air pistol, .22 rifle, .22 pistol, and archery.

“All of this new equipment is game-changing for our program. We have some incredible shooters, and they will be able to showcase their talent with the new firearms. I never want a participant’s potential to be hindered due to faulty or insufficient equipment,” said Amber Hendrix, a Level 1 Certified Instructor for pistol.

Hunters Sharing the Harvest (HSH), Pennsylvania
“We at HSH appreciate the many years of support received from the NRA Foundation and Friends of NRA state chapters,” said Randy Ferguson, Executive Director of Hunters Sharing the Harvest. “NRA Foundation grant funds have long covered the cost of the imprinted chub bags HSH provides to each of our 100+ processors for packaging and distributing hunter-donated venison to the food insecure across Pennsylvania. This longstanding support means so much to our mission.”

Ketchikan Junior Shotgun League, Ketchikan, Alaska
“The Ketchikan Junior Shotgun League is based in southeast Alaska on a remote island in the town of Ketchikan. We have been operating since 2011 and have applied for NRA Foundation grants nearly every year since. Being located on an island, the only way for shooting supplies to reach us is by air or barge.

Without the generous grant funds from the NRA Foundation, we would likely not be able to take even half that number to our state tournament. With the NRA Foundation funds granted to us, athletes from all financial backgrounds can participate in our sport, which is my goal as the head coach of our team. Thank you to our local Friends of NRA and the NRA Foundation for your continued support,” said Eric Eichner, president and head coach.

Kirtland Central High School JROTC, Kirtland, New Mexico
“Kirtland Central High School students, Cadet Captain Nizhoni Rodriquez-Bowman, and Cadet Captain Trenton Joe, showcase the success of our marksmanship program. Achieving marksmanship "excellence" through "adversity" has become our benchmark, and our marksmanship team has continued to build upon this success.

Providing students with new avenues of success would not have been possible without the support of the NRA Foundation. Their foresight in supporting youth shooting teams has provided a path to success that was previously out of our grasp. With NRA Foundation support, our Precision Marksmanship and Sporter Marksmanship Teams won a New Mexico 4A Sporter State Championship in 2022 and Precision in 2023. Ahe’hee, which means "thank you" in the Navajo (Diné) language, from Kirtland Central High School JROTC Bronco Battalion cadets and staff,” said Pedro L., program leader.

The NRA Foundation remains committed to continuing its support for shooting sports programs across the nation, empowering communities, and preserving America’s shooting heritage.
