Just Right: Hornady Security Fireproof Keypad Gun Safe

When the pistol safe is too small and the long-gun safe is too big, Hornady's Fireproof Keypad safe is "just right."

Let's face it: Although we all want and need to secure our guns against unauthorized access and fire, we don't all have room for a big gun safe. That's not a problem for those NRA Women who only own one handgun; there are lots of great rapid-access bedside safes perfect for a single pistol. But what about those of us who have more than one? Or those of us who rent, and cannot bolt a fireproof safe to our floors? New for 2022, Hornady Security has a "just-right" sized solution in the form of the Fireproof Keypad Safe.

Measuring 12"x 15"x 16.5", this neat gun-storage solution is discreet and fits into tight spaces. It weighs in at 49 lbs., which is heavy enough to make it unattractive to thieves to steal in its entirety. It's also constructed from powder-coated, heavy-duty, 16-gauge steel for the body and a double-thick 8-gauge steel door. That's hefty enough that any potential burglar will need specialty tools to get it open (and most of them don't have 'em). The safe’s flush-mounted door, equipped with four 1" diameter locking lugs, makes it even tougher.

That said, the Hornady Fireproof Keypad Safe was designed to be as simple for you to access as it is difficult for a home invader. A battery-operated programmable electronic lock and separate keyed backup let you get to your valuables in an instant. The illuminated keypad means that darkness won't slow you down. Also, an integrated interior LED automatically lights the interior, aiding visibility.

But what about fire? The safe is rated to protect contents for up to 30 minutes at up to 1,400°F. If you do own your home or have permission to alter your rental, the Hornady Fireproof Keypad safe also includes concrete anchor bolts for permanent mounting to the floor.

Not too big, not too small, and available for $252.99? That sounds just right. Hornady.com
